A sculptural composition of sterling silver, centered around a 2.035ct Namibian spessartite garnet. Sourced in person from a local family-run lapidary in Swakopmund, Namibia, the vivid red-orange gemstone is held within an organic silver structure, carrying its story from source to finished piece.
The silver form is created by free-casting molten silver directly into rice, capturing an intricate network of branches and negative space in a singular moment. Two of the prongs are formed directly from the structure of the cast form, integrating the setting into the natural flow of the composition. Paired with a fully handmade sterling silver chain, this one-of-a-kind necklace brings together the distinctive internal character of a naturally included garnet and the unrepeatable textures and contours of free-cast silver.
